concluesion of the D.N.A picture

The picture underneath is showing the set of D.N.A.the characters that are sitting down in the Leah and Phil.the set in my option is very abstract bye all the shopping trolleys built up at the left hand side of the stag.i think the shopping trolleys are linking to the lines were mark siads (On the leafed bye the asder) and u Link trolleys with a supermarket.
The set of this play of D.N.A is amazing buy all the leaves on the ground and the bench that Leah and Phil are sitting on.when u look at the set it gives u a image in your head strat away of a woodland place or an empty park with tow people sitting on the bench.
Lighting in this set relay maches the props like the leaves the lighting for that instantly maches the the colour of the leaves and it takes it more of a good look to set.

D.N.A over view on the play 2013!

EVALUATION D.N.A

My overall opinion of the performance of D.N.A was very good because of bye far everyone listen to the feed back they good and took that on Bord and all put in there best effort as much as they could.
The things that went well for me was the cues my cues were do on point that when i was acting in scene one it felt like i was rely in a argument because it was just line after line that mad it so much more naturally than just fake and the thing is i feel like when u are acting a massive argument scene its got to be on point because other wise it doesn't feel real enought and u lose the gist of the hole scene and buy the performance on 14TH of Feb it went do well.
The Scean that i thought also done well was chem and Ella's scene when there sitting at the back wall because chem sites back and its his waffle and that is a good look for Ella that what she is saying its not just going to nothing its being directed to the waffle because she is talking about a waffle.plus the way how Shem gave it a funny side bye spreading his waffle with jam in a funny manner and that gave the funny side over to the scene and its always a good way to have a funny side in drama because it gets the audience nice and involved that was the best scean in the play i thougth.

Our piece was effective in a way that everyone gave there 100% in there character and listen to want miss said by if your standing at the side and the spot light isn't on u still should be acting as ur character and never lock out of your character because as u may think the audience is just focasing on main stag they will also be looking round and if they look round round to u and you are in character there going to think there is a strong scene of characterisiom  in the room. The set effective buy the wooden swing that was probley the most famous prop on set because i relay dose get used throughout out the whole inter play buy character using it as a back up is they want to hit it or sit down a say a line if they feel they need to sit down on it.Also i thougth the music was very effective because even thougth u have the acting the music also gives a effect of story buy when we had the track near to the end of the play drum and bass i think it was it may give the audience a feel of speed in the play in what i mean bye that is when u have fast upbeat music like that in a theatre play it shows that the next scean may be more up beat because the music was upbeat.

The strength of the performance i would say the opening because as i say thears no worlds but as they say actions speck louder than worlds and that is true because the opening sequence was very Sharp and confident in that u could kinda tell where there character was going just bye what actions they were doing and how they acted them actions out .

I think the only weakness of the play was when Eloise was talking to Cameron near the end because of i felt like it wasn't just me but the night when it was the real performance i felt like the audience got a bit Bord and it lacked a bit i think this because of there was music walking round going on and getting more interactive with the audience and i think its relay important if one actor has a long monolog u should always keep the audience a live in them watching you.

 PIC 1
Shows characters /Phil,Leah,and John Tate. This pic is a good picture in away that all 4 of us have all got different facile expression which is a good thing because when u are on stag even if an actor isn't specking to u directly u should always be miming or facile expressions to  the other person that the actor is specking to because that shows another story that is being told in the play .Next is also abut the way in this picture its showing everyone looking round at me (John Tate) so this is definitely showing people have a scared side towards me and u can definitely tell that buy every one facile expressions buy just the Little lifted eye brow or the eyes u can tell striaght away.

D.N.A 2013 10TH JAN.

1).WHAT DID YOU CHANGE/DEVELOP ABOUT YOUR PICE AND WHY?
My character is Phil and the way i changed the opening sequence was bye instead of doing my hair in just one mirror i decided i would do my hire in three mirrors the sides the audience are sitting,so id get my pot of gel from under my bed then i will style my hire three sides so the audience get a good view of my characters face and the way i stand because i thought to use the audience as much as i can.

2).WHAT PROPS/COSTUME HAVE YOU  DECIDED THAT ARE SIGNIFICANT TO YOUR CHARACTER AND HOW YOU USE THESE PROPS IN THE OPENING SEQUENCE?
The props i am using in the opening sequence is a energy drink and my coat.i will use my coat infront of the mirrors when i put it on and look at myself in the mirror and then i walk away from it a kiss the mirror plus after i put my coat on i walk back over to the swing that's mean to be the side of my bed and under the swing is my drink i pick that up and i go to walk off.

3).WHAT MESSAGE WILL YOUR PROPS COSTUME GIVE TO THE AUDIENCE?
I think the message my coat will give out to the audience is that i take pride on how i look when Phil goes out to meet Friends or show the public of his look also when i put my coat on i put it on in away it makes me feel good in away.

4).WHAT DO YOU WANT THE AUDIENCE TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER FROM WHAT U USE?
i wont the audience to see i take pride in the way i look, this is shown when i do my hire in the mirror with my pot of gel so this is showing that I'm a Lady's man in the way i do my hire.

5).HOW MIGHT THE PROP/COSTUME BE USED THROUGHOUT OUT THE PLAY?
my costume is my coat i were and basically how i use that is when i have the massive argument with characters Richard,Danny, lou and Kathy i go towards and sit upstage right and before i sit down i take my coat off and i lay in out the ground so my clothes don't actually get dirty before i go and sit and relaxed.

6).WHAT HAS GOT BETTER AND WHAT U NEED TO IMPROVE ON?
The things that have got better for me is i no the character i specking to so when they speck i can look round strat into the direction instead of like before they use to speck and I'm like where are they oh there they are so that's the point iv improved on.The things i need to improve on is my cues because jhon Tate cuts everyone off so when other people are talking iv got to cut them off at the rigth time to make it like a real life augment or conversation.

thursday 19 december 2012! (dnaplay)....

JOHN TATE CHARACTER.
PHYSICAL-HOW DO THEY MOVE,SIT,STAND?

:John Tate is a character that moves very lazily and when he comes a talks to people he lines up to there face and makes sure that the person he is talking to gives him a good amount of eye contact because everyone is scared of him so u have to give him eye contact.

scean2-PHIL.
i think John Tate sits very carmley on the edge of the stag when Phil is talking about covering up the D.N.A/buy what iv done is when i go and walk over after i have said my last line i walk over to stage left to go and sit down and talk my coat of and lay it down on the ground so i don't get my self muddy so that is showing he is quite big headed and also showing is quite posh as well as a boss.

what Little thing do they do that shows u are john Tate.
the one thing that i show i am jhon Tate is right at the begin when we do are character sequence, were i do my hair with gel and i give the audience a staring look while I'm doing my hire, next is the way i walk round and get dress carmley and kiss the mirror when I'm ready to go.

19december.
q)WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE OPENING RUN THOUGHT? DID YOU LEARN ANYTHING NEW ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER?
the opening sequence were we show the audience all of our characters has come along way were we fist ever started to Feb 2013 its come on 100%.Iv got to say the opening sequence has shown me lots more about my character because it shows a opposite side to him when he isn't with a load of his Friends just him in his bedroom getting ready to go out he dose defiantly show a Carma side he is still very big headed but he hasn't got that way were he has got to shout at people to get there attention, when he is alone its much quieter.

HOW DOSE D.N.A LOOK SO FAR?
now when we started acting out after we read the scripted and then acted it out for real iv got to say it was slow because we were on script people had to look at every word that they were saying so because they couldn't take there eye up it was just slowing it down, but after about 5weeks it did start kicking up past and week 6 most peopled were off scripted and the pas of it was just so much better it gave everyone more confidence and even mad the scenes more of a up beat vibe in the room that was good to see:).

WHAT ACTOR ARE U IMPRESSED WITH AND WHY?
.The actor i am impressed with is mark who is played bye Ben i think he has put so much extra detail inside of his character to give him self more of a open view of that character also took things slow and relay thought about everything hes character says and dose.

THE WORKSHOP TO OUR FIRST SCENE (DNA)!                                                              (6/12/12)
THRUST STAGING DISADVANTAGE
Is that when u are performing on a stag like that u are made bye the director to speck out to the audience at all different angels so that means u have to keep moving so that audience watching u have u voice pointed at u and there body language.and it is impossible to point your backs at them when u have thrust theatre seating .
ADVANTAGE.
the advantage of having theatre seating set out like this is that u can move round more what i mean bye they while u are saying this u can direct the line at every row at the side while your moving round the space. Also u get more of a connection with the audience because u haven't just got people in  front of u you have people 360 degrees round you.
QUESTION.
challenges that i was being directed on was to think that i was the boss inside the hole gang and that i was very confident in every single world i said  but acutely when  i was directing the line to the other characters that i was shitting it because i thought iv just killed some one.i was asked to act like i was like the leader of the gang and i knew what i was talking about.

HOW WERE U DIRECTED IN THE SPACE.
i thought i was directed very well bye are teacher miss Goodall i think she is a very helpful director and she tells us the right thing what to do at the right time and i think that's rely important  to do that for a actor.also i was told to act like i was telling the audience  a picture in my head and iv got to say that was very hard to understand but i did get it in the end bye great help from miss goodall.
HOW I FOUND THE PROGRESS.
i found that the progress of my scene i was in was coming around very nicely in away that everyone listened to miss  on what she had to say on each character and that made everyone have a better idea on how to act like there character they have been chosen for. Also the things that are your own ideas  is very important to show because u may have an idea then u will go forward and do that movement or facial expression and the director with turn round and they may say u should not do that at all or do that we not so much power so at least u have a director there to guide u on your own idea's and to make them better as well.I do take directing very serious in away its to guide u on your own characters road throught the play and the director  keep u on that road to keep that road growing and your acting growing.
DEVISED OPENING.
My opening i was directed on  was very intresting once again because u could relay get into your characters body and  think how would (John Tate) act in that way when he was waking up.so i write down on a sheet of paper that i could look back on when i was practising this opening on all the moves iv done so i don't forget them when I'm practising at school for it and plus the good thing about that u have a good direction map plan out in ur head what u touching, smelling, were your standing also what your opening.
MUSIC!
I think the music for are opening scene will tell the audience that are characters are very lazy because the lyrics are being spoken throught a mike which is a very lite sound which tell some characters may not be so confident then it had a normally sound which will relate to confident. also the lyrics inside of this song is very like teenager talk in the song so it will tell the audience that all the characters are in there teen years maybe.

The Audition workshop for DNA play2012!

Workshop 29th
My experience of the workshop was getting up and  performing  in tow different characters body's John Tate and mark I felt that I was more covetable performing John Tate because there was a good understanding about him so I new how to act like John Tate because I hade back ground inpomation about him so I thought of that in my audition and thought how I could act that out when I'm up in the space .
Also I wanted  mark because I also had a goodbackground about him and I thought to give him a go to see how I wold act like mark and see if I felt rigth acting as him ,but I've got to say I didint feel as constable as I did acting John . also I like John tates lines much more interesting .

My experience of the workshop was that it is very interesting to see everyone playing diffrent  characters of the(DNA) .Also getting ideas from other people that are playing ur part as well and getting ideas of them and trying to make them Better that the person before u and that's what I tried my hardest on.

The person I was impressed with was romy Because she got up in that space in the middle of the room and she gave it her all she learnt her  lines a delivered them with confidence and she  have her voice with power and anger the way she was delivering her lines I thought she don't a brilliant Job..

workshop3 november 2012. (subtext)

Workshop3 22nd November 2012!
The focus of the workshop was to create truth on stage.
.We create truth on stag because of to show u don’t have to over act to put across truthful drama and also to see how people would react truthfully on stag if this problem actually happened to you .
We don’t believe u play
.we played the game because it is a useful way how u would act in a real life situation instead of trying to act out something that isn’t truth and bye someone else showing the difference between real life and not real life.
What did u learn from the game?
.I learnt little body language is more also silence does tell a lot to an audience instead of just saying words out load .Next is bye the facial expressions as well as body language u can make very little facial expressions to give off a effect .
.The person that I’m going to talk about that took part in the game is sky.
.Sky walks into the room just knowing he was diagnosed with cancer.
.Sky was able to show the truth bye is facial expressions and bye not over reacting towards us audience .I relay liked the way he walk into the room with a face that u could tell something serious had just been told to him and the way he sat on to the chair and thought to him self you must be joking!.
.The stuff Sky done bye changing his way in entering the room was bye walking slower showing that he was upset and in shock. Also showing silence through the role play and then suddenly crying to add that confused affect and I thought that was very clever of him to do that.
Non verbal communication
.verbal communication is when to actors do not speak to each other just use body language thought the whole role play.
.The role play that we created was that I had broken up with my girl friend and she was only about to tell me after wed cuddle each other so she told me and a got relay up set and i was confused on why she had dumped me ? . The person I was working with was
.We made sure the scenes were truthful bye not adding in to over the top body language and making it look like it was a lie that wed had broken up. We also made it real life as we cold by adding little actions in like stroking each other hands in like a sing goodbye so putting as little movements in but also making it believable.
.The other pair that I relay liked was t jay and jj group was very effective because over there rely deep down it to detailed and facial expressions that u would believe.
.SUBTEXT?
.subtext is content underneath the spoken dialogue .under dialogue, there can be conflict, anger, or pride showing off or just other emotions. Subtext is the spoken and thoughts and motives of characters, what they are relay thinking and believe.
.We work out the subtext for the monologue because we wanted to see what Leah was thinking about Danny what was she thinking in her mind when she was specking to Danny at that time, not just telling the lines that are on the  scrip  lines on what that character is thinking and believing while the other character had spoken.
.yes it did let me see a real side to Leah because u can hear out what she is hearing inside of her head at that time but like before that we had no line on what she was believing or thinking so yes it did J .
.why will truthful be important to (DNA).
.Its going to important for our  (DNA) performance because its based on teenagers and u have got to act the same how teenagers would act in theses  day in age . As well as that u got to act the same as are age or if u acted much older that your actually age the audience and plus other actors would be very confused so a truthful its very important to act truthful in TV or theatre wise to get the right point across in side your own actors body .

CHARACTER PHIL , 15TH (DNA)!

Questions about are characters Phil.
.last lesson on the 15th we were looking at what we no about the characters in (DNA).
So we got into groups of 5 and basically we had to come up with a one minute role play showing how characters home is like and how the character acts at home?
.my group’s character was Phil.
.why did we do this activity?
.We done this activity because we wanted to see how he is behind family life and how we think he would act round his family? Also to get more background off him to plot in to are new play (DNA).
.HOW DID THIS HELP ME?
.It help me because it is are only second lesson on (DNA) so I didn’t any much background behind my character (Phil) and to help me no what he feels on the inside as well as on the outside.
WHAT DID I NOTICE THAT WAS THE SAME IN ARE 1 Minute ROLE PLAYS?
.The same thing I saw in are role plays is when ever are characters said anything round the house they were always being ignored in any conversations around the house. And that was being shown in every ones group work.
POSTMAN!
.We discussed about the postman but what is the importance of this character in the play?
I think the importance of the postman is even thou he is not in the play we talk about him so we need background importance about him so when we are acting we have that image inside are head of what he looks like and what he smells like .
TASK2.
.WE CREATED ROLES AND THE WALL BECUASE OF HOW WE THINK ARE CHRACTER FEEL INSIDE OF HES BODY AND OUT SIDE OF THE BODY .
.YES I FOUND OUT THAT HE LIKES LEAH VERT MUCH, HE HAS QUITE SIDE TO HIM WHEN HE ISENT DOING DARS WITH HES MATES AND HE IS VERY RUDE ROUND THE FAMILY HOME.
TASK3.
Creating a back story for your character u worked on
.what is a back storey? = a back-story in drama is background information about your characters home life, how the character acts round other people plus what his environment is like.
Why is it important for actors to understand about the characters back-story?
It is important for us actor to no about our characters back-story because we will have to act it out like we are that character and if we don’t no what his background life is like its not going relate very well so bye having background information with have key facts about our character that we can act on bye just noting them little things what we think he or she may be like.
Snapshot
.Are snapshot was of Phil’s at home and how his family act rounded him.
.the snapshot showed Phil at the dinner table not saying anything and his family are all trying to talk to him but he doesn’t say a word so his family gets more and more pissed off until they get so angry Phil stands up and said shut up! And soon after a walk out the room and the family is glad he gone to leave them in peace.
.we also linked those choices to the play because Phil inside the play is the one that always is up or anything so we kind of changed that round and put him on the quite side and made the family waning to no like he wasn’t there .
.other groups work.
.The group that I found effective was Ben’s group because what they done was very effective because part of the family did talk to there character that they were doing but  at the same time they were also ignoring her as well at the same time so they had them to elements inside of there role play . They wanted her out of there faces send like they were more like teenagers that a family.
Nature nurture.
I have been brought up in a nurtured environment because I have been brought up by my parents and they have passed down to me good manners plus a good young life. To a certain degree we react to things that are going on around us in the environment as they have a certain degree of influence over you.

thursday 15th lesson. (DNA)

Thursday 15th
On Thursday the 15th we got in to groups of 5 and we had to pick out a character out of (DNA), next we had to make up a minute role play on how there family life was. The character we choice was Phil so we had 5 people in our group / dad, mum, brother, sister and Phil. The scene was how Phil’s family was at home and how much he was involved in home life. Phil was played bye (t jay) who had to act like he wasn’t part of the family and in the end everyone got pissed off with him and shouted in his face to try and get him to say something and in the end bye that he shouted back at them bye saying SHUTUP!.
THURSDAY 15TH AFTER BREAK.
After break we got theses big pieces of (a4) all joined up and someone in our group had to lie down and we had to draw round them. And as you our character was Phil. The next thing we had to do is fill the inside of Phil’s body with the emotions he was feeling inside of him self, so the text we write inside of him was, I feel alone, I tell people to do the wrong stuff and people get hurt bye me and so on .Then we had to write the emotions he was feeling out side of him self was, lyre, strong, why do he like Leah?.After we had written them down we got to read them out to the class and I thought that was useful because everyone new more about different peoples characters.

dna script 2012 !

thrusday 8th october 2012                                over view on DNA 2012 !                                 beau williams

My first blog paragraph going to be writing about is my first drama lesson back in term 2 . Today we all met  inside of the class rooms in our drama group and we were told we were going to be shown how to set up a blogger . So we watched miss goodall show us how to set up a blogger and while we were being shown we had to write down the steps  how to set the blogger page  step bye step.

Next we went into are own drama groups were we  were introducing a new play to us called  (DNA)!
dna is a play written from a man called (dennis kelly) and the play is about teenagers that have a laugh and there is a big competition about who get the best word  in the conversation , also its about  a person that has died but no one belives each other and then the truth comes out and eveyone is shocked !
Then we got in to a circle and miss goodall chose students out the class to read the characters from the script just to give her a good idea on what role she might give us to play .

My opinion on the first thursday back on term 2 .
Im really happy that we are going on to script work because it shows that we are going to be more confident in our drama when reading from and full size script . Our class done really well today by pulling facial expressions while they were reading out the character on the dna script .
